After 6/24/15, only three of the four nestlings were alive in the nest box. It is very likely that Helen perished when she was about 28 days old. The other three fledglings were all identified after they fledged. On 12/4/15, the long dead carcass of Helen was recovered from the 2015 nest. Based on my observations, her partial downy plumage, and the length of her wing chord, I estimate her age to be about 28 days when she died.
