Bird was found in Richfield, MN with a shoulder injury on 8/28/07. The bird admitted to TRC - University of MN. The bi-colored band was removed due to distortion. Bird was rebanded with another bicolored band - black/red 27/A. Bird was release along the St. Croix River near Osceola, WI on 5/28/08. Bird was tentatively sexed as a female at banding time, but at a later date, was determined to be a male and banded with the bi-color band as such. 2009-paired with female b/g P/16, site Lock and Dam 1 Minneapolis, MN, nested unsuccessfully due to nearby construction. 2010-same pair, same site, 4 eggs laid, 3 fledged. 2011-same site, same pair, 2eggs laid, 2hatched but one chick died at about 15 days of age. At banding time, the remaining chick was small for the age-1 female. Chick fledged successfully. 2012-paired with same female, same site, through early May. However, by late May disappeared and the female had nested on the nearby Ford Parkway Bridge, St. Paul. Four chicks hatched but were not banded for safety reasons. Only 2 males fledged successfully.
